Madikwena Game Farm & Crocodile Ranch lies in the heart of the Groot Marico Bushveld in the North West Province. It is 80km away from the Royal Bafokeng Soccer Stadium and a similar distance to Sun City
Makikwena Game Farm is 350 hectares in extent and offers a rustic Tented Camp for up to 12 persons between the camel-thorn trees with a boma/braai area and nearby waterhole with viewing deck.
The Camp consists of a large tent with 8 three quarter beds, lock-up wardrobe, cupboard, dining tables and comfy chairs. Bedding and towels are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, kettle and pots. There are also two under cover deck tents with wooden deck containing 2 single beds in each tent. Tea, coffee, milk, cremora and firewood provided. There is a bush shower with hot and cold water and an open-air bush toilet.
Activities include game viewing, bird watching, biking and hiking. More than 430 species of birdlife have been spotted in the area. Game to view include steenbuck, duikers, eland, blouwildebees, impala, waterbuck, warthog, koedoe, redhartebees, blesbuck, jackals zebra, giraffe, ostrich, leopard and the many smaller mammals of the African bush.
Meals and refreshments are also served at the Croc Inn overlooking the crocodile breeding dam, which offers traditional country cooked meals using locally produced organic herbs and produce. Madikwena Croc Ranch has 450 breeder crocodiles and 1500 growing crocodiles.
R175 per person. Sleeps up to 12. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and cremora provided. Drinkable borehole water. Rates are seasonal depending on high season, long weekends etc.
