Madikwena Game Farm & Crocodile Ranch lies in the heart of the Groot Marico Bushveld in the North West Province. It is 80km away from the Royal Bafokeng Soccer Stadium and a similar distance to Sun City
Makikwena Game Farm is 350 hectares in extent and offers two fully equipped luxury self-catering chalets (and a tented camp for 12 – see separate web page) nestling between Camelthorn trees. Each chalet has two bedrooms with two three quarter beds each, bathrooms (one with shower and the other with bath and shower) and beautifully decorated and fully equipped open plan lounge, dining and kitchen areas. Large covered stoeps overlooking the bush and braais complete the picture. A third chalet is in the process of completion.
Activities include game viewing, bird watching, biking and hiking. More than 430 species of birdlife have been spotted in the area. Game to view include steenbuck, duikers, eland, blouwildebees, impala, waterbuck, warthog, koedoe, redhartebees, blesbuck, jackals zebra, giraffe, ostrich, leopard and the many smaller mammels of the African bush.
Meals and refreshments are also served at the Croc Inn overlooking the crocodile breeding dam, which offers traditional country cooked meals using locally produced organic herbs and produce. Madikwena Croc Ranch has 450 breeder crocodiles and 1500 growing crocodiles.
